The new Deep Maintenance and Modification Facility (DMMF) at RAAF Edinburgh has reached its final stages, with Thirteen Commercial Cleaning delivering the final cleaning scope across the new Defence facility for BESIX Watpac.
Over more than three months, 50+ members of our team worked across the project, covering the large aircraft hangars and associated areas with a combination of detailed internal cleaning and specialist high-level works. This included removing construction dust and residue from hard-to-reach areas, along with detailed cleaning of floors, glass, amenities, offices, fixtures, fittings and finished surfaces.
The size and design of the facility presented its own challenges, particularly when working at height across the 240-metre-long hangars. Our teams used specialised equipment and carefully coordinated their work to safely access high-level areas while maintaining consistent standards across the project.
With a large workforce working over an extended period, consistency was a key part of the job. Every area needed the same level of attention, from the largest open spaces through to the smaller details that contribute to the final presentation of a facility.
The result reflects the approach we bring to major projects: experienced people, careful planning and a commitment to delivering quality work regardless of the scale.
The $200 million DMMF is being developed at RAAF Edinburgh to support the maintenance and modification of Australia’s Boeing 737-variant military aircraft. The facility includes 240-metre-long aircraft hangars and forms an important part of Australia’s Defence infrastructure, supporting national capability for decades to come.
