Thirteen Commercial Cleaning has completed the final cleaning works at the new Dunlevie Building at St Aloysius College in Adelaide, a new primary school facility designed by Grieve Gillett Architects and Hayball and delivered by Schiavello Construction.
The new building provides dedicated learning spaces for the College’s primary students and was officially opened and blessed by Archbishop Patrick O’Regan on 13 August, following the completion of the construction works.
Our team was involved on site for approximately three months, completing the cleaning works required to bring the building to its final presentation standard. The scope covered the internal areas of the building, detailed cleaning of windows and frames, external glazing and a range of finishing works across the site.
External glass cleaning was carried out using a combination of abseiling and elevated access equipment, including boom lifts and scissor lifts, allowing our team to safely reach and detail windows and façade areas across the building.
The works also included the cleaning of concrete floors using high-pressure water, along with detailed cleaning of surfaces, fixtures, windows and other areas affected during the construction process. Particular attention was given to removing construction dust, marks and residue and ensuring the spaces were ready for occupation.
With the building incorporating large areas of glazing and a mix of new internal and external finishes, the final stage required detailed work across different areas as construction progressed. Our team worked alongside the construction team to coordinate the cleaning program and complete each area as it became ready.
The Dunlevie Building is now in use by St Aloysius College’s primary students, who moved into the new learning spaces at the beginning of Term 3.
